FastBCP Agent Skill

arpe.io publishes official agent skills in the arpe-io/arpeio-skills GitHub repository. The fastbcp skill teaches your AI agent how to build, explain and troubleshoot FastBCP commands: which parameters exist, which options fit together, which parallel method to choose, and which mistakes to avoid.

The same repository also has skills for FastTransfer, MigratorXpress, LakeXpress and the arpe.io ADBC drivers.

Claude Code

Install the skill as a plugin from the arpe.io marketplace:

/plugin install fastbcp --marketplace arpe-io/arpeio-skills

Or in two steps:

/plugin marketplace add arpe-io/arpeio-skills
/plugin install fastbcp@arpe-io

Then just ask, for example: "Export dbo.Orders from SQL Server to Parquet on S3 with FastBCP, in parallel".

To get the latest version of the skill later:

/plugin marketplace update arpe-io
/plugin update fastbcp@arpe-io

Other agents (Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI…)

Copy the skill folder into the directory your agent reads skills from:

git clone https://github.com/arpe-io/arpeio-skills.git
cp -r arpeio-skills/plugins/fastbcp/skills/fastbcp <your-agent-skills-dir>/

For agents without skill support, paste the content of SKILL.md as custom instructions. The files in its references/ folder can be attached or pasted when needed.

Product version

The skill is maintained against the latest FastBCP release, so some options it suggests may not exist in FastBCP 1.2. If you run FastBCP 1.2, tell the agent so, and check its command against this documentation.

Reporting issues

If the agent produces a wrong command, open an issue at github.com/arpe-io/arpeio-skills/issues with the FastBCP version, the prompt you gave, and the command the agent produced (with passwords and licence text removed).
